    STRONG-STRUT wheelpins, handy tool

"wheelpins" are two, 6 inch long threaded steel rods that screw into the wheel hub in place of the lug bolts. Simply screw in the 2 pins and slide your wheel on over the pins. This supports the weight and aligns the holes. Screw in two lug bolts to secure the wheel, remove the wheelpins, and insert the balance of the lug bolts. Without wheelpins, you have to support the weight of the wheel assembly with one hand while you hold the lug bolt in the other, lining up the holes and pushing the wheel against the hub at the same time. Sure, it can be done but it's not easy. With wheelpins, it's a breeze and it reduces the possibility of scratched and damaged wheels.  A set of 2 steel wheelpins shipped anywhere in the Continental U.S. is $25.00. Here are some pictures of the pins in use. You may get zinc or black oxide finish depending upon what we have in stock. The pins have a hole drilled crosswise near the rounded tip. In the unlikely event they got stuck in the hub you can insert the appropriate tool and make a "T" handle for removal.
